Wild Rabbit Photographs

Everything was at rest, free and immortal
(Thomas Traherne, Centuries of Meditations)

These pictures are the product of "rabbiteering" - going out into the country to observe wild rabbits in their natural habitat. Doing this is something that is very important to my furriness, in that it helps greatly to cement my bond with the animals.

All the photographs were taken by me in 2003 and 2004, at locations fairly close to where I live in the English Midlands. My equipment consisted of a small digital camera, some old but reliable 8x30 binoculars and nothing else but the time taken to gain the trust of the rabbits. Click on the thumbnails to get a rather larger view of each photo.
